New Shoes for School

It’s not about the shoes.

‘Hey Gram, wanna see the new shoes I got for school?” My red-headed granddaughter pulls on my arm and drags me into her pink and purple painted bedroom.

She dive bombs under her bed and pulls out an orange Nike box. Running her finger on the infamous trademark she says, “I wanted white so it goes with all my clothes.”
